Having Lots of Fun

Zach never fails to get Caitlin laughing. Just tapping on the table had her giggling away. I didn't catch the full belly laugh but this is still cute!

Last Stop: Cockington Green

Our last visit before heading home was to Cockington Green, the miniature model village. Didn't get many photos again due to the heat but they have famous buildings from all over the world built in miniature scale versions, just like doll houses with all the detail. And to Zach's delight, some had buttons to make things move! We did get a brochure though which shows all the miniture buildings.

After walking around we decided to board the mini train and have another look in style.

Next Stop: The Dinosaur Museum

Our next stop was the Dinosaur Museum. Not sure what i was expecting but it was rather small and didn't capture Zach's interest for very long. Think we spent about half an hour there.

Next Stop: Questacon

Our next visit was to Questacon. With so many things to see and do and so many buttons to press for Zach and mummy and daddy, no photos were taken.
Zach had fun with water play, driving buggies, pressing hundreds of buttons (his favourite thing in the world is to press buttons!), watching lightening and so much more. There were about 5 levels with about 3 rooms filled with different hands scientific gadgets.
It has now officially been renamed The Button Place!

First Stop: Canberra Zoo and Aquarium

It was really hot in Canberra the weekend we were ther. Over 30 degrees everyday. Despite the heat we set out to the Zoo for our first outing.

Zach enjoyed himself and Caitlin was well behaved and slept through the whole visit. Didn't get many photos, but here are the couple we did get.
It was great having the Zoo and aqurium together. And it was great to get to the Aquarium at the end of the day and get out of the heat.

Everything was so open and close. Here we are watching a Snow Leopard have lunch. You can also hand feed tigers and lions with only a wire fench separating you from their teeth! We missed having a go but seen some others do it.

The whole day at the zoo all Zach wanted to see was the Kangaroos. Every exhibit he would ask "are we going to the Kangaroos now?" I was really hoping they had some!
Lucky for us they did and Zach was very happy to see them.

Zach's Big Bed

Recently we took a long weekend trip to Canberra to do all the touristy things. We stayed at Rydges in a 2 bedroom suite. Both rooms had Queen beds and and Zach loved having his very own BIG bed! He looks so small in it.
He usually sleep with a bed rail so i was glad to have him in such a big bed and he didn't fall out the whole trip. (Loved jumping on it too ha ha)

A Day at Zig Zag

A couple of weekends ago we made the drive up to the Blue Mountains for our long awaited Thomas and Friends experience at Zig Zag Railway.

Along the way we had to drive through a bush fire which was exciting for Zach. It was under control, not sure if it was back burning or not but it added a bit of excitement to the drive.

The day started with a train ride on some old carriages pulled by red engine James.

After about a 20 minute train ride we stopped at another station and walked down to the home of thomas. An old train shed filled with lots of things to do. But most importantly Thomas was there!

And Zach just had to touch him!

We spent about an hour at the shed blowing bubbles, getting tattoos, watching the model railway, having a go on the merry go round (which was an acheivement for Zach, the first time he has gone on a ride by himself!) and the mini Thomas ride on train.

Then it was time to get back on James and go the 20 minutes back to the station.

Caitlin was an angel all day and all in all it was a great day.
